About The Company
Your carpet and upholstery represent substantial investments in design, function, and image. Like other investments, they require careful & knowledgeable maintenance to provide lasting service and beauty. CarpetClean and more… offers the finest carpet and upholstery cleaning you have ever seen…or it's free.
Do you agree with the age-old adage `If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself'?
Well I certainly do. My name is Dean Pilquist and I am the founder and owner of CarpetClean and more… The year was 2001. I was in need of a good, solid and reputable company to come and clean the carpets and upholstery in my home. So when I set out to find such a firm, I had the advantage of being educated on the ways and means of such companies.
I scoured and searched all the appropriate avenues, read lots of yellow-tinted ads, viewed countless websites and had no shortage of companies to pick from. But since I was unfamiliar with any of these companies, I attempted to find just one complimentary referral from a friend; from a colleague; from the man on the street, as I wanted to contact a company that at least one person had something good to say about. You might have thought I was trying to find the lost city of Atlantis.
To my surprise, I found no one who could positively refer me to a company to come and clean my carpets and upholstery. So here I was, a classic Type A personality with no one I could honestly call nor trust to come clean my carpets and upholstery. Clearly I had two options:
Remove all the carpets in my home and use plastic patio furniture in my house.
But since my wife has this thing about being comfortable in her own home (there is clearly no pleasing some people), I went with Option 2 and CarpetClean and more... was born.
Truth be told, the fact that I could not find anyone who would give a positive recommendation was not surprising at all. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of unethical and poorly trained, poorly equipped carpet cleaning companies. Bait & Switch. A very common term for sure as most of us at one point or another in our lives have fallen prey to this all-too-common practice.
Well in the carpet-cleaning industry the bait & switch works this way: A cleaning company will advertise extremely low prices to bait you into contacting them. Once in your home, they will "suggest" or better still "recommend" that you have additional work done. You'll hear things like 'while I'm here, I can also…' By the time they're done, you've spent considerably more money than that low price that first attracted you to them. This is known as the switch.
When it comes to carpet-cleaning companies, I am reminded of another old adage: Caveat Emptor, which means Buyer Beware.
Okay, so you now you a little about me and CarpetClean and more…But how do you know you can trust us? How do you know we're not one of the companies that practice the timeless art of bait & switch?
What makes us so special?
